What we collect, why we collect it, and what you can require us to do about it. If anything here is unclear, that is a fault in the writing — tell us and we will fix it.

1. Who we are
SnowDust ("snowdust.ai", "we", "us") operates snowdust.ai and the snowdust.ai platform. For personal data processed through our own website and account systems, we are the controller. Where we process data on behalf of a customer as part of delivering the platform, we act as a processor on that customer's instructions.
2. What we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: name, work email, company, and the credentials used to sign in.
- Billing details, where you buy a paid plan. Card data is handled by our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers.
- The content of messages you send us, including support requests and anything submitted through a contact form.
- Configuration you enter into the platform, such as the prompts you choose to track and the competitors you name.
Information we collect automatically
- Usage data: pages viewed, features used, and timestamps.
- Device and connection data: IP address, browser type and operating system.
- Cookies and similar technologies, as described below.
Information the platform collects about brands
The core of the product involves querying public AI systems and recording their answers. Those answers are about brands, products and categories rather than about individuals. Where an AI answer happens to name a person — an executive quoted in a source, for example — that name is incidental to the measurement and is not used to build a profile of that person.
3. Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To provide the Service — performance of our contract with you.
- To bill you — performance of contract, and compliance with tax and accounting law.
- To support you — performance of contract, and our legitimate interest in answering questions properly.
- To secure the Service — our legitimate interest in preventing abuse and protecting accounts.
- To improve the product — our legitimate interest in understanding which features are used, assessed against your interests and expectations.
- To send marketing — your consent, where consent is required. You can withdraw it at any time.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own independent marketing.
4. Cookies
We use cookies that are necessary for the site and platform to function — keeping you signed in, remembering preferences, and protecting against abuse. Where we use analytics or other non-essential cookies, we will ask for consent first where the law requires it, and you can change your choice at any time.
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Blocking necessary cookies will break parts of the platform.
5. Who we share it with
We share personal data with:
- Service providers who host, secure, support and bill for the platform, under contracts that restrict what they may do with it.
- Professional advisers such as lawyers and accountants, where needed.
- Authorities, where we are legally required to. If we receive a request for your data and are lawfully able to tell you, we will.
- A successor entity, if the business is merged or acquired. You will be told before your data becomes subject to a different policy.
A current list of our subprocessors is available on request from privacy@snowdust.ai.
6. International transfers
We and our providers may process data in countries other than yours. Where personal data leaves the UK or EEA, we rely on an appropriate transfer mechanism such as an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses. Write to us if you need the specific mechanism that applies to your account.
7. How long we keep it
We keep personal data for as long as your account is active, and afterwards for as long as we need it to meet legal, tax and accounting obligations or to resolve disputes. When it is no longer needed we delete it or anonymise it.
If you want a specific retention period confirmed for your account, ask and we will tell you what applies rather than pointing you back at this paragraph.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have data deleted;
- restrict or object to processing, including profiling and direct marketing;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw consent where processing relies on it;
- complain to your data protection authority.
To exercise any of these, write to privacy@snowdust.ai. We will respond within the period the applicable law requires, and we will not charge you or treat you worse for asking.
If you are a customer's end user and your data reached us through that customer's account, we will direct your request to them, since they decide what happens to it.
9. Security
We take technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk, including encryption in transit, access controls, and restricting internal access to those who need it. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. If a breach affects your personal data and the law requires notification, we will notify you and the relevant authority within the required period.
10. Children
The Service is for business use and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us data, tell us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The "last updated" date above changes when we do, and we will give notice of material changes before they take effect.
